Check mandatory disable

Hallo, I've created my superclass Test but when I try to add an attribute of type TimeStamp, the checkbox mandatory is disabled. 

Otherwise, if I create not a superclass, I can check mandatory option.

Why?

The checkbox “Mandatory” can not be managed on the superclass, but must be defined on each subclass of that superclass.

Can I ask why this is??

Obviously in this mode you can have more flexibility because you can make different choices on each subclass.
