I am messing with dashboards, and they seem to lack one substantial feature. You can add there display of class, display of a view, but there is no possibility of adding process.
It would be really nice option to focus user of the product on one page. If user wants, he can always go to the dedicated page and do things from there.
I imagine it would work like this: You have a warranty management process. You want a dashboard, that would show list of expiring warranties. Next to that, you could click a button to start a process of ordering extension of warranty.
If that is too complicated, maybe there could be implemented a link button to chosen relative path.
