Installation instructions I can follow.

Hello.

I really want to install and try Cmdbuilt but the installation instructions in the Technical Manual are extremely hard to follow and you almost need to have a degree in brain surgery to get it to work.

I'm not an expert in Linux but I can find my way around. I'm trying to install this on Ubuntu Server 12.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an easy to follow installation guide that makes sense please as I'm about to give up after 2 wasted days and go and try some other CMDB.

As mentioned - I've looked at Cmdbuild and really want to try it for our company but installing this thing without decent instructions is a nightmare.

I know this is an old post. But finding information like this is still very difficult. These instructions are terrific and worked well for me to get started.  But I would like something like this for installing other components.  The english manuals are very lacking in details and not specific enough.  For example, in one place the instructions tell you to check to see of something is running as ROOT.  But they don't tell you what they should be running as. What is the point of checking if the proper settings are not specified.  I am trying to enable the GUI framework, but am very lost on its installation. I downloaded the Zip, but where do I put the files? What next?
