Is alfresco required to run CMD Build?

I’m trying to install openMaint (product based off of CMDBuild) on an Amazon EC2 instance, but I’m having trouble installing alfresco. Is this absolutely needed to run CMDBuild? 

 
I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have an instance image they might be willing to share? If not for free, I'm willing to pay! Thanks for your help.

No, it is not necessary to have Alfresco or other DMS systems active.

To avoid errors you can disable the use of the DMS in the Administration Module (CMDBuild Administrator Manual 2.5 ENG page 125).
