I’ve got an instance of CMDBuild.
I created a Standard Class called Tenant and set it as tenant class in system configuration.
Than using a superadmin user I created some Tenant cards.
When I go to user configuration, I set allow multiple tenants but I cannot select any tenant.
Also if a create a card class configured as Multitenant Mode enabled (Always or Mixed) the dropbox is empty.

I had a similar problem.
Check your account permissions in postgresql. The CMDBuil user must not have superadmin permissions.
Then check if your multi-tenant service is running “use apache tomcat log files for your web instance. Alternatively, you can also check if the service is running in CMDBuild.”

you can try the following: from your personal user menu (top-right corner), enable the “Ignore tenants” option. After doing that, try assigning the tenants to the users again.
This should allow the assignment to work correctly. Let us know if it helps!
