openMAINT upgrade skipping versions

Hello,

in a future openMAINT upgrade, will it be necessary to upgrade gradually-incrementally version to version, or can we skip versions?

Specifically, we are using openMAINT 1.1 (core 2.4.2), and would like to upgrade straightforward to the new version (whenever it is announced) skipping version 1.1 (core 2.5.1).

We are asking in terms of planning our upgrades.

Thanks,

John

Dear John,
you can upgrade directly from 2.4.2 to 2.5.1.

Dear Tecnoteca,

I was not asking exactly about this. The question is if it is safe that we can SKIP versions 2.4.3 and 2.5.1 in order to go directly to the your new openMAINT version whenever it is available... e.g. version 2.5.2

(We would like to avoid possible database inconsistencies with 2.4.2 that might occur if skipping upgrade of intermediate versions.)

Regards, John

Dear John,
yes, it is perfectly safe.
Actually it will be completely equivalent from the database point of view, since the same patches in the same order will be applied in both cases.
