Hi

Does CMDB have any support for generating QR Codes? We'd like to attach these to the physical devices and be able to scan each device via QR Code to open the devices history. Also barcode's for the devices ID/Tag would be handing for when we are building lists.

Yes, this is possible.

 

CMDBuild uses the visual editor iReport (JasperReports open soyrce project) to design reports.
Then you upload the XML descriptors in CMDBuild and print the report from CMDBuild (see Administrator Manual and User Manual).
Since iReport allows you to insert barcodes and QR codes in a report then you can print from CMDBuild labels with barcodes and QR codes.

Then you can use CMDBuild "mobile" (it will be released next month) to read the QR Code and automatically open the corresponding data card in CMDBuild.
