Question about Alfresco and Document attachments

Hi all;

So I setup CMDBuild with Alfresco 5.2 and was able to attach and remove documents and images from specific features. However in the setup there is a preset drop down with only one option Alfresco. When I have the preset set to Alfresco attachments stop working, when I clear the preset and leave it blank, attachments work again. 

Any thoughts on why? Is it for an older version of alfresco?

CMDBuild can access Alfresco via the standard CMIS protocol (default setting) or through an old Alfresco webservice available up to version 3 with which we wanted to maintain backward compatibility.

It is therefore correct to use the CMIS option to work with Alfresco 5.

I am not understanding your response; I think we might be thinking of 2 different settings; I am using the CMIS option for Alfresco 5.2, I also have it installed on the same Tomcat as CMDBuild took me a while but I got it, so it isn't installed via the .exe installer. It is running as a web service. The image below shows my settings....

If in the red highlighted area I select the preset Alfresco, shown as selected in the attached image, in the drop down my attachments stop working and I get an error.

I was just wondering if that is normal or if there is another use for it.

Hi,
the Presets is used to fill the metadata of the files (for example the category). To make it work you should follow the instructions in the CMDBuild Technical Manual ( from page 20).

As suggested I went over the setup process again and everything is setup accordingly; but it still stops working when I change the preset value to Alfresco, but works when I clear it. It is working so I am not too bothered by it, it was more of a curiosity.

Anyway thank you for looking into it.
