Re: Error Message when using a dash board as starting page

Hi All,

when selecting a dash board as a starting page for a group, the users belonging to that group get an error message "Class <number> non found" everytime they login to cmdbuild. The correct dash board is shown, but the error shows up as well.

In the Role table I can see that the class number shown in the error message is stored in the column startingClass for the appropriate group. While any other group where a real class is chosen shows the class name in that column, the group with a dash board only shows a number. So it seems there is no corresponding class for a dash board.

I tried a new dash board which I created from scratch and this shows the same effect. What can we do to prevent this error message?

KR Carsten.

In the CMDBuild on-line demo the starting page is a dashboard and there are no errors.
Are you sure that the error does not depend on other reasons ?
If you set a normal classe as your starting page does it work ? and in that case you can see
your dashboard without errors ?

Hi again,

How can I foind out if the error depends on something else? The error message only shows up when choosing a dashboard as string page. Nevertheless the dashboard is shown without any issue. Even if it is a new one (without any controls on) the error appears. Unfortunately there is no Detail for the error which can be expanded. After reverting to any other class as starting SMDBuild will open up cleanly. Manually accessing the dashboard in any combination will show the dashboard without any error message.

If required I can even send a screenshot of the error message.

What you mean by saying "choosing a dashboard as a starting page"? Only classes and processes could be chosen as a starting class for system or for a group.
Maybe do you mean that you have put the dashboard as a first object in the custom menu? If it's so, have you chosen a starting class somewhere? Maybe in Setup>General options > Default class ?
Or maybe in Group > YourGroupName > Starting page at?
Again, if yes: do you see a number or an existing name?

This error often arise when a class/process selected as a starting class is no longer active or present in the CMDBuild system.
Hope this is useful.

Hi again,

what I did was choosing a dashboard in "Group > YourGroupName > Starting page at". My dashboards are visible in this drop down list. To doublecheck if something is wrong with my existing dashboard I created a new, empty one from scratch, but have the same issue.

When selecting the dashboard there, it is shown whith it's name in the GUI while the mentioned class column in the role table only shows a number which is also shown in the error message (see initial comment).

Kind regards.

Now we have replicate the problem and I confirm that appears a wrong message "Class <number> non found".

We have placed it on the list of things to do for the next versions.
