We have already most of our buildings and rooms entered within our (pre-cmdbuild) deployed geoserver.
We plan to associate a polygon layer both to buildings and rooms ... as already said we have these buildings and rooms defined as features in our geoserver.
As we understand it : we have to redefine (redraw) the rooms and/or the buildings from cmdbuild in order to benefit from its gis capabilities.
We would like to avoid such redondant entries and associate directly the geoserver polygons / features to cmdbuild ... is it possible ? how ?
it depends on how the features are defined in geoserver. Do you have one gesoerver layer for each room or just one whole layer for all the rooms on the same floor?
Basically what you need to do is setup the connection to geoserver in the administration panel of CMDBuild and manually populate the "_Layer" table in the CMDBuild database.
Then you have to setup the visibility of the layers on the classes of your data model.
Best regards
