I have a question related to usage of card type “Unit” present hierarchically under “Site” in Openmaint.
What is the exact practical use of “Unit” Card type? To model what exact element of a complex of building in a real world will this card type “Unit” be used ?
Hi, I do not know, what the official idea behind units may be, but we use it to group rooms in a large building with different wings or halls, like the 3 arms of a letter T.
It took me a long time to find out ig there was any relationship implemented between floor - unit - room. But I found none.
For sample in residential context:
- Complex >> neighbourhood, condominium
- Building >> building
- Unit >> dwelling, apartment, shop, parking lot
- Floor >> floor, platform, wing
- Room >> BIM rooms or spaces like: facility room, bedooms, kitchen, parking lot
It’s your choice and it’s expandable
